But God. Trusting God Through Life's Storms.

6-25-26

But God.

Just yesterday, I left home to run a quick errand and while I was driving down the road, I hit a wall of rain. Crazy downpour that made everyone on the road crazy. Shortly after that my tire sensor came on indicating my tire lost pressure, following that a lightning strike took out a transformer that blew sparks everywhere…right in front of me. Not only did I feel the sensation that I needed to get off that road, but how quickly things changed from the time I left my house to the time I returned.

Isn’t that the case in life? In one unsuspecting moment, everything can change. Sometimes for the good, and other times, not so much.

Relationships can fail, dreams can be shattered in the blink of an eye, leaving your heart in a million pieces and questioning what in the world just happened. Grief, rejection, loneliness, uncertainty, tragedy, betrayal…flat tires and blown transformers.

But God.

Psalm 34:18

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.

Take a moment where you are at, right now.

Is your heart broken? Is your spirit crushed? Do you feel like the weight of the world is on your shoulders?

Open your hands and your heart to receive Him, right where you are at.

God is near.

You’re not alone.

He sees you in your heartbreak.

He meets you where you are.

You’re not forgotten.

But God.

God can undoubtedly intervene and completely change your trajectory on so many levels. Just like with those unsuspecting moments when things happen that leave you heartbroken, He can change it for the good.

From loss to plenty.

From despair to hope.

Take a moment and think back to when God intervened in your life. He was there then, and He’s here now.

Reflecting on those moments will help you reaffirm the fact that God’s plans are better than anything we could ever think, hope for, or plan for ourselves.

Go read 2 Kings 4:1-7.

This widow went from being on the verge of losing her two sons to creditors to later being able to not only pay off her debts but to live off what was left…with her sons!

Today, God has a sweet and precious gift for you. The sun is rising, announcing His glory and that glory is His radiant Presence which is confirmation that we are not alone during our times of hardships. God is near…God is here.

Psalm 118:24

This is the day that the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it.

No matter what you’re facing, take a moment and recite that verse. This is the day that God has made and has given to you…it’s full of blessings, countless blessings. One of which is His promise to you that He will never leave you, nor forsake you.

You’re not in this alone.

Trials and hardships are a part of life, but God has the final say.

Hebrews 12:1

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

James 1:5

If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.

Psalm 95:2

Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song.

Zephaniah 3:17

The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.

Because He is God, from whom all blessings flow, thankfulness is the best way to draw near to Him. Sing praise songs to Him, tell what He’s doing in your life. This is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it. No matter what.
