Mom's Egg Nog

There are certain recipes that feel like Christmas the moment they hit the kitchen, and this is one of our family favorites. This Egg Nog has been part of our holiday gatherings for as long as we can remember, and it’s the kind of tradition that wraps you in nostalgia from the first sip. Whether you’re enjoying it by a fireside, sharing it with friends, or gifting it for a neighbor, this homemade classic brings old-fashioned holiday warmth to every celebration.




Ingredients

6 Eggs

1 qt. Half-n-Half

1 tsp. Rum Extract

½ to 1 cup Sugar

Milk - to desired thickness


Directions

  • Mix all ingredients together in mixing bowl until well blended. I’ve also done this in the blender for a couple seconds. 

  • Pour into glasses, top with sprinkles of nutmeg for look’s and enjoy!


Homestead Tip:

  • Try this with farm fresh eggs or raw milk for an even more classic experience!

  • If you prefer Rum in your Egg Nog, add your desired amount but watch out for those flying reindeer!
